Director, Workforce Development (EDGE) & Executive Director, Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce (GMACWorkforce)
The Economic Development Growth Engine Industrial Development Board of the City of Memphis and County of Shelby, TN (“EDGE”) is a Tennessee industrial development board created in 2011 under Tennessee Code Annotated §7-53-101 et seq. EDGE functions as the economic development organization for the City of Memphis and Shelby County Government. EDGE also manages the Memphis & Shelby County Port Commission, the Industrial Development Board of Memphis & Shelby County, the Depot Redevelopment Corporation of Memphis & Shelby County, Foreign Trade Zone 77, and since 2017 the Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce (GMACWorkforce).
Launched in 2015, GMACWorkforce is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help address the Greater Memphis region’s workforce skills gap. GMACWorkforce currently manages a US Department of Labor grant to provide training for careers in the medical device industry.
The Director for Workforce Development helps develop new partnerships and programs, links employers to local workforce resources, and represents GMACWorkforce. The Director will coordinate efforts with various government, education, training, business and economic development groups to create a unified and effective regional workforce development system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in public or business administration, public policy, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of ten (10) years work-related experience required.
Valid driver’s license and some travel required.
Certification and/or awards related to human resource management and/or workforce development is preferred.
