  • Overview

    The HR Manager will be skilled in (1) the latest recruiting and hiring practices, (2) managing compensation, recognition and benefits programs, (3) developing training and job performance measurement standards, (4) ensuring legal compliance with all labor laws, and (5) handling daily employee relations all performed in a manner that enhances long-term retention of staff and builds the company brand as a great place to work.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    Recruiting and Hiring

    • Maintain appropriate staffing levels by establishing a recruiting, testing and interviewing program
    • Hire new employees and/or promote internal candidates
    • Manage all third party agency relationships for temporary labor
    • Establish on-boarding processes and termination processes

     

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Manage compensation plans
    • Benefits administration

     

    Training and Job Performance

    • Establish and conduct orientation and training programs
    • Create job performance measurement standards and programs
    • Train Managers on hiring, termination and employee relations

     

    Legal Compliance

    • Ensure adherence to all applicable state and federal laws
    • Maintain personnel records
    • Conduct exit interviews

     

    Employee Relations

    • Create and maintain a positive employee relations environment
    • Employee policy and procedures administration and enforcement
    • Assist in employee conflict resolutions and grievances
    • Keep up-to-date job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
    • Maintain an Employee Handbook that reflects issues for a manufacturing operation

     

    Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business administration, or equivalent business experience
    • 7+ years business experience including at least 5 years of experience in human resources management
    • Prefer experience in the manufacturing sector
    • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with others at all levels of the organization
    • Reliable, with a positive attitude and the ability to handle responsibilities with ease and a calm demeanor
    • Highly organized and detail oriented with a “no-job-too-small” attitude
    • Works efficiently and quickly with attention to accuracy and detail
    • Strong critical thinking skills including the ability to work independently and proactively

     

    Working Conditions:  Primarily an office environment with some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Limited travel.
